When the military hears an S.O.S. from outer space, scientists construct a rocket to harness Captain Atom's power. When he arrives he finds that the former inhabitants had created a civilization so perfect that they grew bored, and took to space leaving their lifeless planet as a reminder that intelligent beings must always be bold. Atom makes insecticide, fills the atmosphere with it in order to kill the insects, and returns to the earth.
Eve frees herself from captivity to become Nightshade, then saves her father and drives Image back into the mirror world.
