• The Cry of the Night is -- "Sudden Death!" - Credits for script, pencils and inks confirmed from Julius Schwartz's editorial records, provided by DC Comics. Pages 8 and 17 have paid advertisements taking up the bottom third of the page. Page 11 has a half-page house ad for Adventure Comics #380 (May 1969) at the bottom of the page. This is a "modern" version of "The Case Of The Chemical Syndicate." An editorial note at the end of the story explains: "Every old-time BATMANIAC knows of BATMAN'S creation by teen-age BOB KANE! DC's current teen-rage, MIKE FRIEDRICH, updated this issue's yarn from the very first BATMAN story ever published (in DETECTIVE COMICS #27, May 1939)."

The knife jutting from the back of the murder victim (page 2, panel 2) has been removed. ? A word balloon where the killer confesses to the crime (page 6, panel 2 - "Sure... I did it! But you won't send me to the 'chair' for it! I'll -- ") has been deleted.
