In 1891, Gambits sailing to NY with the Courier & Jean-Luc (as a 10 year old). They're racing Gambit's grandfather & his Thieves Guild who are searching for Nathanial Essex, for Candra. Essex, as Milbury, set himself up as a gynecologist, Jacob transforms into a woman & go for an appointment. Essex quickly realizes there's something different about the Courier's genetics & injects her with a serum that that turns her into a puddle of goo. Gambit contacts Amanda Mueller to track down Essex but arrives too late as the Thieves Guild has already come & gone after making a deal with the doc.
Spidey's Venom symbiote gets run over by a truck, before Lockjaw relieves himself over him.
Issues #12-14 take place between X-Men #98 and Uncanny X-Men #379.
