When aliens arrive on Earth seeking a criminal who escaped from their planet, Superman and Batman offer to help find the alien fugitive, but soon become suspicious that the pursuing aliens have an underlying agenda.

On sale date from Direct Currents #5 in June 1972 cover dated issues and Comic Reader #82.

  • Fugitive from the Stars! - Cover art credits confirmed from Julius Schwartz's editorial records, provided by DC Comics; original indexer credited the inks to Dick Giordano.
  • Fugitive from the Stars! - Page one mis-quotes Bob Dylan's Desolation Row: "At night the superhuman crew...arrest eveyone who knows more than they do." Best of DC #20 corrects the line: "Now at midnight the agents and the superhuman crew...come out and round up everyone...that knows more than they do." The message came through anyway.
  • - Coming attractions for March 14 and 16, 1972 are listed: Korak, Son of Tarzan #46; Batman #241; Mr. Miracle #8; Teen Titans #39; Forbidden Tales of the Dark Mansion #5; Superman #251. Spot illustrations are used for Korak and Batman.
